Issues after using Malwarebytes...

So, I've been following the readme FAQ about cleaning a system since I've had a Virtumonde stuck in my system.. I got all the way to the point where I ran Malwarebytes.. It found and cleaned some issues, then rebooted my system. I got the alert saying that something needed to be deleted upon the reboot - so I followed the FAQ and allowed it to do this.. Upon reboot, the system boots to the desktop fine but then it just sits... The harddrive light continuously flashes like its loading/running but I can't get into anything... IE, Taskmanager, etc. It just sits there... If I run the cursor over the taskbar, it goes to the pointer with the hour glass...

    Any ideas?

After some messing around in MSConfig, I was able to isolate the problem. I was able to finish the readme and now my system is clean.

new problem, though -- everything is working ok but IE loads pages super slow. the rest of the internet flies. Downloads fly once I'm at a page, etc.. Just the actual browsing itself is now noticably slower.. Any thoughts?

We really need to see the logs from doing the Read and Run First.

Have you cleared your temp internet files?

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program does not require an installation. The executable actually runs the program.

NOTE: This program is for Windows XP and Windows 2000 only. ATF Cleaner will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. Please move them to a different directory first.

    * Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    * Under Main choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.

    If you use Firefox browser

    * Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.
o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

    If you use Opera browser

    * Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.
o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main ATF Cleaner menu to close the program.
