Issues with Firefox

Running XP SP3 with Firefox 3.01, its been running fine forever, but yesterday...the browser function works fine but all the addons and themes not only stopped working but totally disappeared.

First thing I did was run my virus/spyware program, no issues. I also ran Hijack This found the following which I deleted because it was an unidentifiable toolbar button: O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {0BF43445-2F28-4351-9252-17FE6E806AA0} - (no file)

Then I tried looking for profiles first by location C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profilename\, but the folder Application Data does not exist, and I know it is a common folder that should be there.

Then I looked for the profiles manager with Run firefox –ProfileManager and instead of opening the profile manager it opens another copy of the browser!

I uninstalled and reinstalled but the problem is still there.

Also tried to download and install an add on and get the error message attached.

So what next, I've run out of ideas?

 

You mentioned that you uninstalled and re-installed... when you uninstall Firefox, it leaves a ton of personal settings and stuff behind in the event you re-install it. You must remove all the stuff it leaves behind.

Then, when you re-install, it should be OK.
If you have any bookmarks or other stuff you want saved, be sure to back up that stuff first.
