Issues with Game Updates

Hey All,

Currently running WinXP Pro on a AMD 64 Machine and for some reason am having issues with updating games.

Shutting off the XP firewall doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

You need to elaborate what you mean exactly by "issues".

 

It doesn't seem to be allowing the games to go outside the PC and update themselves. As if something is blocking it.

 

Still need more info. Dial up or DSL? What games? Is the "update" feature a menu option of the game or are you downloading a patch? Is there a differance between your version and what the games website states as being current?

 

Actually it seems to be effecting all the games on the PC. Battlefield 2, Warcraft 3, F.E.A.R., etc...

The in-game updates don't seem to be working and when a manual patch is downloaded and installed the game does not reflect the update.

It just doesn't make sense.

Does the account your using grant you permission to install programs?
