Hi! I recently bought to USB hubs on-line. One works properly on my WinXP laptop at my mother's house, but I have been having problems with the other one on my Win10/64 laptop at home: some drives seem to have a bad connection, and others don't work at all. I bought the hubs because the WinXP laptop has only one working USB port, and the Win10/64 laptop could use extra ports. hat could cause these problems? How can I fix them?

Is the hub self powered or does it have a power supply?
If self powered then that is probably the problem.
Is the hub USB 2 or 3?
If 2 then it’ll be slower if plugged into a USB 3 port.

Did you swap the hubs to double check that both hubs are working?

I believe it's self-powered as it has no extra wire. I thank you for your help.

Then it may not be powerful enough for the Windows 10 PC. Especially if you have external drives or a large number of devices connected to it.
