It all started with Trojan SPM/LX detection!

Norton Anti-Virus detected the Trojan SPM/LX virus on my computer. I began running Spybot, Spyware Doctor, and ended with AVG Spyware Removal programs. I have also installed CCleaner and updated my AdAware personal to Adaware 2007. Reg Cure does nothing either. The Spybot and AVG programs remove alot of bad stuff, and though I now get no other detections, I keep having Windows Internet Explorer automatically open whether or not I am online, with various ads. My mainscreen also has a huge warning posted (as if a screensaver) but it does not effect the icons. That has been on the screen since the start and I cannot get rid of it. Can someone please HELP!
