It's official. GTX 970 flopped...

Anyone who purchased nVidia cards modeled on this architecture will be due a few bucks. Or not depending on who you deal with.

I could dump my three 970s, but with the games I play I'm content. As I've mentioned many times I play @1600p and I've seen many videos of 970 sli @4k and they are all okay. Now, not all games are equal.....

Some of the newer games have HUGE textures at max settings, which is the main point of 4K IMO. Any really big textures get performance problems. But who cares? We are talking maybe 0.01% of the gamers out there.
Are there two of us here in MG running 4K right now?

 

The issues with the 970 yes. The partial refunds are news to me.

 

Well that is true. There are some companies offering extended upgrades to the 980. I'd have to upgrade my PSU and shell out another $400 or so to do that. I'm sticking with my 3 970's. For what I play, they are worth the money.
