When I install itunes 7.0 (or the newest version) after the download and upon attempting to install the installation stops with an erro message "invalid h:// drive". I do no have an h drive unless it is some old networking drive (this is a retired office computer) and do not know how to chck that out. Any help would be apprciated.

If you have an H:\ drive "mapped" on your computer, you should be able to see it just by double-clicking on My Computer and looking at the list of hard drives available. If you find one, it would have "Network Drive" opposite it for the type of drive it is.

Start by looking for that and post back.

It is not on any drive list or network list. I can't find it anywhere. I think it is just some corrupt message but it still dosent' let me install.

Are you upgrading from an earlier itunes version or has it ever had itunes installed.

The reason I ask is because when you plug your ipod in, the o/s will allocate a drive letter to it which might have previously been H: ....Just an idea....

    Cheers

Try uninstalling it and then start in Safe Mode and remove ALL references to the IPOD in your Device Manager. (In all Windows versions, right-click on "My Computer" and choose Properties, in 98 & 98SE then click the Device Manager tab; in 2000 and XP, click the Hardware tab and then the Device Manager button.)

Then try installing it again, making sure you follow the instructions to the letter.

Sometimes if you don't get the installation exactly right, the installation won't work and you have to completely remove it from Safe Mode to remove it properly before you can try again.
