Itunes help

Hey all, everytime i click the itunes shortcut on my desktop, it configues itself and then opens which takes awhile. Just wondering if this is normal or not. Seeing as though on my old computer it only configued the first time i opened it and never happened again. Where as this one it does it everytime

What do you mean by "configures"? Do you just mean it loads or starts up or something.
I think iTunes runs in the background when you close it, presumably so it can start up faster the next time. Perhaps the iTunes on your new computer does not use this. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and look in the processes tab for "iTunesHelper.exe" i think is the name of the background task. I don't use iTunes so i might be mistaken, i have only seen it on my brother's computer.

 

It says "please wait while windows configues itunes" and thats it. Like when u first install a program this happens. And i checked my task manager and its not there. :S

 

i figured out how to set itunes as my default player, but it isnt in the list vista has given me... how do i fix this also?

What list is iTunes not in? Have you tried re-installing iTunes? Is the iTunes on your current PC the same version as on the old PC?

 

Sorry bout that. Yes i have tried installing itunes again, many times infact. This is a newer version of itunes im running on this computer, but my last computer had windows xp, my new one has vista. Maybe thats the problem? Ive heard vista screws up alot of programs

 

Well i don't know what else you could do then. I don't think it would be Vista's fault, my brother has iTunes on Vista and i don't think he has had any trouble with it. The only other thing i could suggest is to use google and maybe you will find an iTunes forum or something where other people have this problem.
