I cannot get my iPhone 4S to show up as a device in iTunes on my laptop. It works just fine on my desktop.

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5920. I have the latest version of iTunes (v.6) installed on my laptop. The iOS software on my iPhone is up to date.

The problem as far as I can tell is that my laptop will not install the necessary drivers. I cannot remember the exact error message and it does not always repeat. Basically it is saying that it recognises the device but that an error has been encountered installing the drivers.

I know that the Apple Mobile Service is switched on.

I don't know where to go with this issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The problem is the same with my iPod; thus, it seems to me that it must be my laptop rather than the Apple devices.

If it helps, I didn't mention it in my initial post, my operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.

I now have the error messages and attach them.

Am I in the wrong forum? Does Majorgeeks not deal with Apple-related issues? Just asking as I've never failed to get help from Majorgeeks before.
