i've got some more questions

thanks to major geek halo i've gotten my modem working on linux (hey man, if u come to Croatia look me up, and we'll get drunk.

but still i'm an old dos\win... user, and i can't figure some things out. i can't understand rpms and tar files. for example after installing modem i've tried to install my favorite opera 7. i've got 3 files pera-7.11-20030515.1-static-qt.i386.tar, opera_s60.sis, and last but not least ow32enen711j.exe. so i am pondering WTF should i do with these (i'm use to win way of doing things- one file=setup). help please
also if somebody could direct me to a page where i could find all linux commands and switches (like the good old dos).
