January 2021 Attack On Microsoft Systems

I have fallen victim to the recent fiber attack. As a result I had to rebuild to systems from backups of installation software as my regular backups were rendered useless. This was a nuisance, but brought to light a problem. With the new Microsoft installations requiring GPT or a fake GPT like MBR, the effective recovery of a damaged system is now depended on both the drive image and the systems UEIF bios content. In short, if you don't have both, you do not have insurance of effective recovery of a system in the event of complete hardware failure or intelligent cyber attack. Question therefore is "Do any of the system backup systems backup the bios with the drive so that recovery from catastrophic failure is possible."

Note I have during my recovery work discovered that the Windows 7 onward MBR drive installations are not true MBR drives. They are depended on the system bios content.

As to recent attack, they were made possible by backdoors created by Microsoft in their anti-piracy efforts. The fact remains that if you can make a complete backup you can pirate software. It further appears that Microsoft has been working towards having Google Androids capacity to remotely brick any machine that does not meet their expectations.

I would like to thank whom ever launched the attack. I don't know their true intentions but they have exposed a serious ethical and most likely legal problems with Microsoft and their actions.
