Japanese Garden & Bathhouse

Last weekend, a friend and I escaped to a Japanese Garden and Bathhouse in the Blue Mountains down south. Great weekend escape to enjoy the mountains, clear blue lakes and fresh crisp air where this unique bathhouse is a great place to unwind and de-stress.

After being shown to our hut and presented with a guest kimono, towel and flip flops, we headed straight to their Tea Room for some delicious simple Japanese meal and sampled their own organic brewed herbal teas.

Afterwards we enjoyed a relaxing herbal steam bath, sampled each outdoor hot spring bath and the indoor spa with the purest water direct from their natural underground springs.

Then before indulging in an invigorating massage, we relaxed in their beautiful Japanese Zen garden while taking in the view.

The whole time there was spent wearing a kimono and walking in their flip flops. Great place to relax and unwind over the weekend. Photos from website:

The Japanese really know how to de-stress​

 

Hi David, ah yes, it was very relaxing, feeling the effects the remainder of the week. I believe it is the only one in my State of New South Wales. We just missed out on the drop of snow that weekend, though the car was covered in frost by morning.

The one hour massage which was brilliant, had me sighing with relief throughout while my friend on the adjacent table chuckled away thinking I had fallen asleep and was snoring funny
