java help please

    running ie7
    downloaded flash player after proper uninstall i think.then uninstalled java and reinstalled.javas testapp claims proper install but it just wont run up. tried all the security and on buttons allowed.tried with both firewalls off. stumped.

    java, javascript and flash are three different products.
    What do you need help with?

    Java. Javas test page claims it installed, but the test to run java says application failed to run. Console says java.lang.Exception in thread,number format exception,exception in thread 11.Among other things beyond my comprehension.

    Download a Java Removal tool http://majorgeeks.com/download5967.html
    Let it remove all the old versions of Java. Note: it might appear that it isn't doing anything but it is working. I used it today on two computers and on the first computer, I thought it was stalled.

    Then you should still have a Java icon in your control panel. Click on that and when the box opens, click on the 2nd tab: Update. Click on the update now button.

    Then go here java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
    and wait to see if it works. If it doesn't click one or all of the 4 links for fixes and information.

    I'm not sure if 1.6 build 10 is the latest or 1.6 build 13. I know 13 is for 64 bit browsers and since I don't have a 64 bit system, maybe that's why I was offered build 10.

    tried java ra didnt budge from add remove. version 13 claims its for 64 bit only my browser is 128 maybe this has some bearing. I could not find version 10

    There is no 128 bit. Currently 32 or 64.
    I have java 1.6 build 13 installed on windows 200 and windows XP both 32 bit versions.

    I am probably just ignant plodr but under help about it says cipher strength 128 bit..is this a different issue.
