Java is the biggest pile of crap..

BRAND new Novell 6 box. Java based- abended 15 times in 2 minutes.
Insight manager java based- crashed and would not reload

jetdirect admin- java based.. practially unresponsive half the time.
Lotus notes- slowest piece of shit on the planet.

I HATE JAVA!!!!!!

 

Well, you could say the same for Microsoft Windows and didn't Microsoft try to kill off Java and failed...

 

Windows is not a language or a programming language environment.

 

The problem is in the software, not the language.

Java is still young. There aren't programmers with 30 years Java experience. There aren't programs written in Java which have a 10 year development history over which bugs were ironed out as new features were added. You're looking at large programs written all at once in a language which programmers don't know as much about as some others, such as C.

Is that an excuse for poorly written software? No. But it may be part of the reason why such software exists.
