Java

Can someone give me an update on Java? I read the "How to Protect yourself from malware!" Thread and #7 commented on Java but its an old thread. I remember a couple of years ago Java was creating issues do i still need to have it installed on my PC? Thank you.

 

Unless you regularly use any websites that require Java Runtime (very few left now) you should fully uninstall it. If you do need it for any website, then make sure it is the very latest version.

I uninstalled Java from the one computer that had it installed almost 3 years ago.
I'm not sure if the removal tool has gotten better.
It didn't remove much for me. I also tried JavaRA which didn't work well either.

Then I ran Revo Uninstaller. It found and allowed me to remove 2,230 registry entries.

 

Chala, Max is correct, very few site use Java. I use it strictly with my
stock account and do so by right clicking.
