I have been having Spywareguard by Javacool running in the background for years now and seems to be unobtrusive but I keep checking for updates and I haven't found one available since I think 2002. Ver 2.2
Is this still a viable program or am I wasting CPU cycles for nothing?
    Thanks

    Hi

Dont think that one has been actively developed for quite a few years the follow on app from Javacool and one I love is Spywareblaster and is actively developed weekly with updates etc

    Download HERE
*do uninstall Spyware Guard and then install Spywareblaster and update, no need to buy it as thats for automatic updates as you can manually update each week, unless you like the app then support the developer.

Spywareblaster doesnt run just adds known nasties to your browsers exceptions list, be that Firefox or IE.

and would likely go for current active malware scanning the free Malwarebytes HERE

Halo, thanks for the suggestion. I too use Spyware Blaster and keep it updated. I think I'll uninstall Spywareguard too.
