    Hey guys,

My mum has a Compaq Presario 2100 Laptop. When using the mouse touchpad, every few seconds it freezes up for aound 0.500 seconds, then jumps. Also the keyboard misses out letters when typing.

Any help would be appreciated on how to fix this.
    TIA

@Bagtas03, Reinstalling an OS is a last resort. You will end up getting banned from posting in the tec forums with advice like this.

And posting links to megaupload will get you banned also.

Head to Compaq website, See what drivers are avalible for your computer, maybe reinstall the drivers for your touch pad or mouse drivers, reinstall thoes and see what happens.

Did you have the same problem both before and after the OS reinstall?
Does the computer behave unnormal in any other way than the mouse and keyboards input?

Big thanks go to plodr, this was exactly the problem with my laptop issue, keystrokes and mouse movement were choppy and "skippy" removed the battery and BAM! works like a charm, I'm assuming by the age of this posting that the OP also resolved the issue with a battery removal/replacement, sorry to bump an old post but i figured plodr deserved some credit and a High Five :highfive for his very useful post as well as a confirmation to all who read this post for similar help.

    Peace.

I had this same problem and was going to post a request to solve but thanks to tips on here I won't.

Simply remove the battery from your laptop and after a minute replace it back.
    Now lappy is working fine.

Unbelievably I was going to go to a pc shop for advice.
I tried TouchFreeze which didn't work then I had all my stuff transferred to another pc which is where it will now stay.

    Fixed.
   .
