Ok so i got a new SATA hard drive this morning. Anyway i put it in ma computer, as you do. Formatted my computer, as ya do too :p anyway problem is when i now come onto windows it shows my hard drive in the "safely remove hardware" option in the system tray. Don't really understand why, i added in a screenshot just so ya know what I mean ... I have one SATA drive in and one IDE...SATA is ma main drive (c)

Im not looking to just use the properties option and use the "always hide" feature either lol.....just incase someone was going to suggest it.

Any other ideas would be grateful thanks :)

Mmm this may wanna be moved to the software section...wasnt too sure but it may well be a driver issue but im not too sure.

Thought I'd add that before I got the new SATA drive in I never had this before with the IDE.

The SATA drives are hot pluggable which is why it is showing as a removable drive. There is nothing wrong with it, just means you can pull the drive out on the fly so to speak, but not really a good idea to if it is your os drive though ;)

Your only option is to hide it However, when you plug a USB device in this will re-activate it anyway.

Ok I thought Id try removing the software/drivers of the SATA thing the mobo cd had on. It seems to have worked .....the safely remove hardware icon has gone and it doesnt seemed to have caused me any problems removing them drivers. Will it cause a problem in the future? Cheers for the response btw :)

It appears only once the nvidia chipset drivers are installed, hence why removal has resolved that issue. You might get by with the Windows ones, but if you have issues you know to re-install the nvidia drivers and ignore the "safely remove hardware" icon.
