sorry if i'm in the wrong sub forum (or whatever you call it). just want to say thanks for helping me out. it took a while but i was finally able to get it and got rid (at least, for the moment) of win-eto.com with hijack this.

nope i don't recognize it either, but i couldn't check it on the startup list so i left it. think it's safe to delete?

 

Why not rename it DNSCLEANER.BAD - That way, if it turns out to be part of something you need, you can chage it back.

Before you rename it and while you are looking at it, RightClick it and get Property and Version Info. If none, I'd be more inclined to Delete it!

deleted it and no problem so far. it said melkosoft corp on properties, didn't look good to me. i'm sending the latest HijackThis logfile. and thanks again for your help!

and P.S. i just knew you're good when i saw the shakespeare quote... that it's about bush tells me you're a whiz!

 

I believe Melkosoft is CrapWare! Good to Delete it. . . I seem to remember seeing it in other logs with the win-eto problem, but not that particular .exe - Thanks for checking on that. Now I'll know to remove it when I see it again!
