For clarity, you have office 2000. The problem is with your email attachment, a works template. I'm assuming the email software is outlook 2000? Who is having a problem receiving the email?

Think its an option in Word 2000, but the Batch Conversion Wizard, will be able to turn your works template/doc into a word doc/template

On the File menu, click New > In the New dialog box, select the Other Documents tab > Click to select Batch Conversion Wizard, and then click OK

and follow the rest of the wizard.

May need if prompted to install the Office CD in the drive.

the template was done on ms works 7.0, the email is yahoo. i was sending it to someones email but i dont know what they have.

if i click 'send' it goes to this. if i follow the file directions, it still comes out as a mixture of symbles and text. this is what i was trying to send

Fortunatly my command of the english language is pretty good I think.....

MY post was as Office 2000 was mentioned and its a Works file that seems to be gobbledgook in emails, that a possible solution would be to convert it in Word to a Word doc which is far more universally excepted.

as a further thought are you sending this attached live so to speak or in a zip file, zip it up and then send.. some online email accound Google for one mess with the formatting of Doc's on occasion, I had one template from Publisher that had formatting all screwed up.

Does the other party have Works and can use the template?

    A. If so then try zipping the template up and attaching it to an email.
    B. If not then yes convert to a Word Doc then again zip and send.
    C. PM me and I will give you an email address to send it to of mine so I can see first had what your seeing ( thats if the template is not too personal )
