What are the specs of your system? And what O.S. are you trying to install? Did you format and partition your harddrive?

Is there a cd in the drive? Is it a bootable cd?
You can format your HD during the early stages of the win XP installation.

For some reason it is not reading your bootable Winxp cd. Is it a legit copy? Does the light come on the cd drive showing that it is trying to read the disc?

You should see ~press any key to boot from cd~. press any key and it should boot fine. You need the xp pro disk in the cd drive. You can always use the xp disk to partion your drive. Anyways here is a link I found with step by step instructions on how to install XP. How to install XP

Hope that it helps you out.

If there is no data on the hard drive, you won't see the "Press any key to boot from cd". It should boot right into the setup.

I'd check to see if the cdrom is setup for the master jumper.

Also, is this a sata drive? I'd also make sure that the sata connections within the bios are net set for raid, but set for IDE or base.
