Just Curious!

    Some threads have green stars beside them, varying in number and I was just curious as to what the green stars meant. I know what the paperclip and the stick pin mean, but those green stars have me stumped:-o:confused

    You can rate threads. I'm not sure why anyone would do that, but you can. A lot of the times when spammers come, they are the ones that rate it after they stick their spam in them.

    Of course, now I can't find where you can do this, but I know you can somehow. lol

    edited to add...I found it. You can't do it in all forums. You can in INteresting links at least. It's up at the top.

    Helps me spot spam and delete as thats really where its seen most as Laura mentions, love it when the spammers make it easy to spot their posts!

    I always wondered why some threads got the stars as there was nothing spectacular in them, but I thought somebody got wowed for whatever reason. It makes sense now. Gawd those spammers are thick eh? roflmao We've had some who would hide a link in a smilie but they'd get caught too. LOL

    They will try all sorts of tricks Augie, but been aroudn long enough to spot them all or nearly all of them now. Was one a few years back that was embedding URLs in the fullstops and comma's etc

    Oh man!! I have 4 threads in the 'Hot Topics' section with 5 stars and all this time I just thought you guys liked me:cry But in reality, it the spammers that like me!! Talk about a crushing blow to ones ego roflmaoroflmao Don't laugh Augie, you have one too in the same forum with 5 stars:p However, poor Fred_G has one there also, but he only has 3 stars.

    Hehehe, I haven't seen those yet. I mean if one embeds a link then how will anyone ever see it?:confused Who the heck ever passes the mouse over all the text unless it's vision impaired folk?

    Hehehehhehehe I tripped them up at Beachers Brook ;)

    Nah, some threads are rated as good, but some when you look in the MAC forum, well!!! 90% are where spammers have been, as they try to hit the quieter forums, thinking their spammage will go un-noticed!


    They had full stops and commas all over the show, virtually between every 3rd or 4th word, but they will try anything to get their message accross.
