Just curious, of all the knowledgeable geeks around here...who is AMD and who is Intel??

I myself am an AMD man with an Athlon XP 3000 homebuilt system!!

How about you??

I run 50/50 in my use of AMD/Intel. I firmly believe AMD has the better processor for desktop use, faster performance at lower clock speeds and lower core temps. However, Intel has the better processor for laptops.

 

Desktop - 2.4 Ghz P4

Laptop - 1200 Mhz Athalon XP

Handheld - Intel PXA270 624 Mhz


I really don't have a preference. I'll take Intel or AMD.

Laptop - P3 666mhz
Desktop - Athlon 64 3200+

Either way, I support amd for gaming and intel for everyday use and laptops.

 

Both laptops = Intel. First build desktop = Intel. Desktop upgrade = AMD. Newly-ordered laptop for work = Intel.

Honestly, I can't say as I'm overly impressed with the AMD over the Intel. Yeah, I got it because it was cheaper, but it was supposed to be so noticeably different from my Intel that I would be blown away. Not so much.

I'm an Intel man but the next computer I'm building will be an AMD.

1. Pentium M 1.8 GHz
2. Pentium 4 3 Ghz HT
