Hey I just installed a new video card its a radeon 128 MB and took out the 32 MB video card that came with my computer and when I rebooted it the screen was blinking. Any suggestion how to take the blinking off?

Did you uninstall the drivers for the old card first? Do this in Safe Mode if you haven't then reboot and see what happens then.

    First boot into Safe Mode.
Then Right Click on My Computer>Properties>Device Manager Tab (It may be subtly different in your version of Windows)
Go to the Display Adapters line and click the plus sign to show all the adapters loaded. Remove them all.
Reboot the PC which should now boot normally into Windows but only possibly 16 colour VGA mode. You should then install the drivers for the new card which should have come with it and then you can set the screen resolution and number of colours to your liking. :)

I am now helping my son. After disinstalling the video cards and reinstalling the Radeio 9250, the screen continues to flicker. He has a Sony HMD-A240 monitor -- at 1024x768 pixels, 32 bit color, 85 hz -- I tried changing to 16 bits color and it was no help. Also tried lesser hz and still the same.

Any more suggestions. It is annoying.

    Thanks.

Do you mean flicker as in the refresh rate is too low and your eyes hurt, have you tried increasing the refresh rate, your monitor may also need a driver installed,if your setting the refresh rate at 85hz and its still flickering it sounds as though you arnt actually changing the refresh rate, try this program it will auto set them to thier highest setting
