Just passing...

Haven't been here properly for a while - Uni life is just too busy!
Spent 4 hours this afternoon playing Beat It - Michael Jackson version(!!) to be recorded for Monday, visiting home this weekend for Mothers Day, completely ran out of money and hugely into my overdraft!

Student life sucks but is great fun at the same time!

So, what have I missed? Any newbies taking over? Inform me people! :-D

Good to hear from you, hope you're well too!

Uni course is great, spending countless hours in the studio but it's rewarding, sadly no new music that you can listen to yet, plenty for me to touch up and finish - just a case of finding time to get it done! I'll be back home at the end of May (finish early due to no exams this semester) so will be working with the band back home lots to get stuff done, will let you all know how it's going and link you to some of the work.
Am also working a lot on my new solo stuff - can't leak any to you yet but when it's out it should be interesting, but relaxing to listen too as well!

Yargwel, completely forgot you were in this neck of the woods! Whereabouts are you located?
Having a fantastic time here, great nightlife and enjoying myself, heading back home tomorrow to the ****hole that is Watford though!

Hi McA, glad all is well except for the overdraft part... not sure I understand that, think something is lost in American/English interpretation?

Thought about you a month or so ago, someone wanted software to record drum notes or something like that. I had no clue but knew you would know what they're talking about.

Fantastic thanks Laura, as I said earlier - studio for a few more hours on Monday and will hopefully have a recording from it. I'm sure you'll recognise it when you hear it!

Overdraft - not sure of the American equivalent, allows us to 'use' more money than we actually have. Student bank accounts usually have big overdrafts (anywhere from £1000-£3000) for whatever - rent, tuition fees etc.
If your friend needs some info on drum recording give us a shout!

Not even going to try forgetting. I have "met" too many good folks here and will try to remember each and every one of them. Even if I never meet any face-to-face, it's still good to have someone to rely on.

My bank calls it "over-draft protection", and offers it as an option on debit/check cards. Handy, but also a bit dangerous...

 

Was confused thought it was a "school acct" that was owed on, it's McAs acct. so all is well with the school tuition.

I understand overdraft protection re banking, was nice when I was young they just took the money out of my moms acct. when I overdrafted.

If you overdraft your checking acct, it is pulled out of another acct. or you get hit with daily fees and really expensive here.

I have a friend that always spends her last penny and overdrafts a lot. She ends up paying like 150.00 for carrying 50.00 overdraft till next check, her bank loves her, go figure. They even give her a 500.00 line of credit to encourage her to overdraft the acct.

Hey, mcadam, and welcome back!

One of the newbies here. What type of music do you do?:wave

 

I like to experiment with electro and produce some of acoustic stuff but also work a lot on the recording side.

 

I've been going there on and off for over 25 years (showing my age now ) and have never seen or heard of any trouble with drugs. The current landlord, who has been there for 15+ years, is an ex-policeman so I don't think he's likely to let anyone get away with any dodgy substances. The only pub I know of in the area that used to be raided on a regular basis for drugs was the Fox and Hounds which is about a mile from the Heroes.
