Hello all. I had some trouble finding the "New Thread" button. When I sorta did, it said "Closed". But after logging out then back in everything seems to work fine. I have used your forum several times over the last few years and always found it to be very helpful. But now I have a question that I haven't been able to find an answer to. So I decided to join. Perhaps I may be able to help someone in the future. I'll ask my question later when I figure out where I should ask it. Thanks for having me and for the previous help I have gotten from this site. larnels

Hi and Welcome to the Majorgeeks forum.

I would suggest to tick the "remember me" box when you login as it helps with some parts of the forum and attachment's to work properly.

If the "closed" area you where trying to post in was the Malware part of the forum?

If its the Malware forum and you are not the original posted of that thread you are trying to post into you wont have permissions. The Malware forum is special in that you have to be an authorised user to post into this section, or a very capable user in removing malware*. If you are interested in malware removals and a competent user in fixing Windows OS issues then best to answer questions in Software, Hardware forums so that the malware/admin team can judge your level of expertise.

    Becoming A Malware Forum Helper

Reason we changed the policy of anyone replying to malware questions was that it became a mess/confusing when multiple users posted their advice, theories and general "I had this virus" comments, sadly a fair amount of what is posted to aid removal of malware was wrong and could have made matters worse. Which is why as you will agree its best to have continuity in helping someone remove malware from their PC, especially with malware and being infected is very stressful on the person infected.

As to your question think of what the issue is, is it software, hardware, driver, malware related and just post your new thread in one of those areas.

Things to add to your post are some of the below:
    1. What Windows version and Service Pack are you using.
    2. What make and model is your PC if an OEM (DELL, HP, ACER etc) or if custom build what motherboard maker and model do you have (Gigabyte, Asus, Intel etc)
    3. If hardware or software what application or device is causing the issue.
    4. What error messages do you get
    5. Steps to recreate the issue if it happens at specific times only.
    6. Did you install something new before this happened or is the problem random.

Think you get the gist as the more info we have the better we can try and help you fix your PC problems as remote, blind troubleshooting is a hard task at times.

BUT we will endeavour to help you fix any issue as we have some really smart folk who devote there spare free time to help anyone.
