Just when I thought I had it licked!

Hi,

I started an entry in the nebies section but realised I should have posted here instead.

I have a family computer (open to all) that recently started doing redirects on IE. A little research and I see that a variety of Malware is on my computer. Was given a direct to this site by a guy at work and after following through all the cleaning exercises I thought I had it licked. Just went on to IE again and I'm still getting redirects.

This was also happening whilst I was trying uninstall AVG 8 (Free) as I wanted to install comodo AV & Firewall combined.

I have now found out that parts of AVG it are still on my system and I couldn't run combofix as a result.

I can't now reinstall AVG.

I am left with two issues now:

1) Getting rid of the Malware would be nice.
2) I need to get an AV program up and running.
