    I say Hoax.

Only cause I have been sent pictures in the past of storms that have been forwarded multiple times and were fake ;)

    They looked very similar, too.

    Neat pics though.

I agree with you Adrynalyne...hoax! In fact I would go as far as to say they aren't all of the same storm.

I'll never understand why people fabricate stuff like this..guess it's just to generate more email:rolleyes: Storm pictures are actually from a storm in Orangeville, ON Canada.

If you search storms in Canada you will find other pics from the same storm.

Isn't it though? I originally saw these pics several months ago..they, and others from this storm were on a storm chaser site and one of the Canada weather sites that is similar to our national weather service. It irritates me that people manipulate things the way they do with emails...like you said...you got the email from your sister and it was one of those ones that had been forwarded umpteen times...wonder how many people actually 'fall' for it? And they say our news media is full of sensationalism...lol

    sensationalism

n 1: subject matter that is calculated to excite and please vulgar tastes 2: the journalistic use of subject matter that appeals to vulgar tastes; "the tabloids relied on sensationalism to maintain their circulation"

I agree they are pics of supercells and/or similar storms...which I have seen myself up close and personal..scary and fascinating at the same time but they occur in many places...NY, FL, TX, etc. They are more common in the middle states but that's not the only place they pop up. You say the pics rogvalcox posted are from the site you link too but I don't see any of them there. Can you provide a direct link to the pics rog posted on that site? This is gonna bug me as I can't see a reputable weather (Canada) website like our NOAA fabricating the location of a storm...:(

I believe most of those pics are from a storm chaser named Mike Hollingshead. All pics of tornadoes or forming tornadoes.

This link has a link to Hollingshead's site as well, where there are a lot more pics like those below.

I'm just curious as to who was sitting around with that much time on their hands to think....hhmmmm...I think I'll fabricate a fake e-mail just for the hellof it...then I'll send it out to a whole bunch of people...for absolutely no reason, and lie to them and tell them it is such, n' such!!!! Get a life!!!!

Oh well...don't guess it really matters huh!!??

On another note, though...I think it would be awesome to be a storm chaser!!!!

Happens every time there's an event like this. There were a bunch of pics of an annual Chinese river flood that circulated after the tsunami last January, there are several pics that claim to be taken from ships in the ocean during various hurricanes...

If only everyone who forwarded an email would think to check it out first (Snopes is a great site, and good starting point, as well as a couple of others), then my inbox wouldn't be nearly so full. :)

Don't have pics, but I can say none of those are of a hurricane. Having been threw hurricanes & tornados, I would much rather go threw a hurricane, than to deal with tornados. Tornados are much more destructive than hurricanes. Smaller scale yes, but alot more powerfull,\.
