Kazaa Beggone won't run

Okay...a computer geek, I am not! In fact...it's probably dangerous for someone like me to play on the 'super information highway'. My question is probably super simple to answer with out all this info but here's my profile anyway:

Windows 98 SE (4.10.2222)
1000 megahertz Intel Pentium III
32 Kilobyte primary memory cache
256 Kilobyte secondary memory cache
Hitachi DVD-ROM GD-S250
Iomega CDRW640EXT-B
IC25N015ATDA04-0[Hard Drive} (15.10GB)
Circuit Board: IBM 265632U
BIOS: IBM1CETD3WW (1.23) 11/19/2001

I guess if anyone needs more than that you will ask.

Here's my question: I would like to get rid of Kazaa and downloaded Kazaabegone from this site. However, my computer keeps asking me what program I want to open the file with. I know that Virtual Basic 6 is required to use Kazaabegone so I downloaded that from this site, too. Either I am not storing Virtual Basic 6 in the right place to be "self-executable" or I'm doing something else wrong because I can't get Kazaabeggone to run. I recently updated through Microsoft's Update site but that didn't help either.

Any advice? Thanks, Kim

Hi Kim... I know when things dont work as they should it can get frustrating... however djl147 did post a good peice of advice for you in relation to KazzaaBegone being a Zip file that needs uncompacting.

Yor VBasic file is self extracting and will find its own place to install so now worrys with that one.

But as Win98 didnt come with Zip compression/uncompression built in you will need to get a 3rd party program like winzip or winrar to uncompat it for you.

I just downloaded it, unzipped it, and it ran fine.

This might be a silly question, but did you unzip the program first?
