Keyboard and Sound Problems

Keyboard - It stopped working after a power cut. It's not the batteries and I'm assuming it's a USB one although it's wireless and has a receiver for it. Could it be a driver problem?

Sound - The volume of it varies almost constantly. I've tried a system restore before the point it started but it didn't work. Could this be a driver issue as well?

If it is, could someone run me through driver installation?

 

For the keyboard you could try unplugging it from the usb port then reattaching it. And at the keyboard end if it unplugs.

What's your operating system? What drivers are you using? Ones on the installation CD or from the keyboard/sound card manufacturer?

If they are on the install cd you could try booting into windows, going to the device manager, finding the keyboard/soundcard & uninstall them.

Reboot, the drivers will install themselves.

If you have them on another cd you will need it handy when windows boots again.

 

I managed to fix the keyboard problem but now after uninstalling the drivers, XP won't install my Audigy 2 sound card. It's able to detect it but it says there's a problem with installation,

 

The card should show up in the device manager but with a question mark next to it.

Right click on it/properties/Driver. From there try doing a 'roll back'. What happens?

That's where you firstly uninstalled it, isn't it?

If that fails try redownloading the driver again.

 

A rollback worked but I'm still getting these weird changes in sound :S
