Keyboard Driver Issue?

    I just recently did a windows repair on a dell dimension 2400, strange thing though, the mouse will work but as soon as you press a key on the keyboard both the mouse and the keyboard stop responding, i know the kb&m are good because im using them right now, and i don't think its the MBR (which i have seen cause a keyboard to not work, strange huh?) anyway if you guys could help me out on this one i would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

    Update: now i am getting a bluescreen BAD_POOL_CALLER
