So I built my new system about a year ago.

    AMD Ryzen 5 3600
MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max ATX Motherboard
    Western Digital Black SN750 M.2 2280 NMVE 500GB
    Seagate BarraCuda 120 500GB
Western Digital 2TB HDD 7200 RPM
MSI Radeon RX 5500 XT OC Mech 8GB
    16GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4-4000
EVGA Bronze 750 Power Supply (full modular)
    Corsair 4000D (Black) ATX Tower

    Edition Windows 10 Home
    Version 22H2
    Installed on ‎5/‎11/‎2024
    OS build 19045.4412
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19056.1000.0

Since the beginning I have experienced USB keyboard issues. Often the usb connection will act as if it restarts, then when reinstalling the device i get a device not recognized error message. I've went as long as 6 months before with no issues though. Starting 2 weeks ago the error is non stop. So i went into the power option in the control panel and disabled the usb suspend option and fast restart option. This worked for about a week. Then the error started up again after trying to add a new usb keyboard. (which didn't work at all. num lock key is lit up but no keys work) So i switched motherboards and plugged in the old keyboard, the problem kept repeating still. I have tried 5 different keyboards, and like i mentioned 2 different motherboards, both are MSI.

The only other thing i have noticed is that in my device manager under heading Keyboard... it shows 2. One is my usb keyboard and the other is usb Razer device. Which i assume is for my Razer Death Adder mouse. Which is listed again under the heading Mice. If i remove both of them listed under keyboard heading, when keyboard is reinstalled both usb keyboard and usb Razer are added again to the Keyboard heading. Also, the keyboard error existed before i purchased the Razer mouse.

Sorry if this is a horrible post, typing with only a on screen keyboard blows! Does anyone have a clue what might be going on?

I have seen issues with keyboards that are plugged into a hub. Make sure it is connected directly into a motherboard usb port. Especially those that use software for lighting, volume knobs....etc.
