My pc didn't shut down properly earlier but I can't get it to enter windows (I'm using Windows 7).

Usually when it starts after an improper shutdown, it will prompt you whether you want to start in safe mode or normal mode but I can't choose because my keyboard doesn't function when it enters that selection screen, I tried pressing one of the F keys to enter bios before that and it works fine. Just stops working at the selection screen.

Any idea how to solve it?

Simplest solution would be to use an external USB keyboard if you have one available. After Windows starts once it should fix the problem with the internal keyboard.

If no external USB keyboard try F8 during the splash/BIOS screen to see if the laptop's keyboard will operate on the Safe/Advanced startup options page and try Last Know Good Configuration.

Thanks a lot for the tip! Got it sorted out. I went to BIOS and the keyboard was miraculously disabled.
