    Hi all,

On my keyboard when I press shift plus 2 I should get the @ symbol, but I get the " instead, so if i want the @ symbol I have to press shift plus " keys to get @. I know you can do something to put it right but ive forgot how as I had this problem ages ago. Can someone please re-fresh my mind and tell me how its done...again.

    thank you so much

This has happened to me on a couple of occasions, I don't know what causes it, and I don't have a definate answer to remedy it....but I just noticed that it righted itself not long after in fact....maybe I did a reboot first I don't recall.....

I think you just have the regional language setting for your keyboard set to the wrong country as far as keyboard mapping. From the control panel select the regional & language options> then the keyboard settings tab and choose English UK. That should place the @ sign on the ' button + shift rather than the 2 " button. I think thats US international setting. You should if you choose both, be able to then switch at any time with a hot key combination such as shift+s, or opt to have the choice available via the system tray.

    Hope that helps

    Hi bravachick,

I tried to edit my first post but it didn't happen for some reason. I think I misread which way around you need the keyboard layout. Try it on English (United States) then in a drop down select 'US International' and apply it, which should match the printed layout on your keys in that 2 + shift should give the @ sign.

i just tested that on my laptop which is a printed UK layout and my desktop keyboards which are US international layouts. It can then be switched between with left Alt+ Shift.

Hope that works and sry for getting that backwards first time around.
