Hey guy's, been awhile. I have a XPS 1530,and on the KB one of the keys keeps falling off, it seems to snap back in place but soon it works its way loose again. Not sure if a locking tab is broke or what. I've never had them off or even new they come off. Anyway is this a easy fix,can I get something from Dell maybe to fix this one item,I can't really tell looking at it how it suppose to lock in,didn't want to pop off another to look if something was missing or broke.I know some of you have seen this before and I really don't know if something is missing or broke that holds it in place. Like I said when it comes off, I just line it up and press it down, and I feel it snap and it feels locked, but after a little KB action it works back loose. Hope I'm in the right section to ask this.Thank's guys !

I've never actually replaced a key but you could check these two sites to see if you can match up the retainer/hinge. Notice that the model number is M1530 so I may have the wrong model. I believe both sites are legitimate but you may want to read up on them.

That particular keyboard does not seem too expensive to replace entirely which might be an option. http://www.google.com/#q=dell+xps+m...gc.r_pw.&fp=435e185a007639bf&biw=1152&bih=670

Sometimes you need to "wiggle" them at the same time as pushing them on. press the key fully and try move it around. It should snap in properly. Or you have genuinely broken the key, but you should be able to see if anythings been snapped off. laptop keys are a pain to fit on properly.

Thanks E2, yeah I can't see anything that looks broke, kinda wierd no one else uses this LT,and it just poped up out of place, I can have some crappy luck, kept checking to make sure a metorite didn't hit it while I was at work, thats the kinda luck I have, also my 2 year warranty went out last month, the people at dell said I could talk to the out of warranty people about buying a whole new KB,I ask them do they have tech people that just cover the letter D ! Then told them I could get just the key I needed with extra clips for less than $6. Anyways thank you guys, yall seem to always be helpful.Thank's to the WWW of internet forums, you guys are the best !:)
