I was given a Toshiba A135 laptop but there is no dot button
Is there a way to use ctrl and some other key for a dot?

I don,t want to buy a usb keyboard if I don,t have to

I've had a look at your keyboard Toshiba satellite A135 on google images and you do have a dot or period on the > key which is one key to the right of the M key where it should be.

Is this your computer and keyboard?

If you have this key and it doesn't type a dot when you hit it go to control panel, region and language, set your location to YOUR location on the keyboard tab, change keyboard and set everything for YOUR region.

EDIT I see your from Canada so experiment between US and UK keyboards.

But before the shift key does it present? :)

If not, you need to use a virtual keyboard. Yes, it's weird.

The dot key used to stick all the time The former owner had to
pry it up all the time and it popped off So now I use the onscreen
keyboard when I need a dot or a greater than sign
As you can see no periods in this post
