Keyborad problems (HELP)

My compaq keyboard is not working.

First of all my computer had a power suppy problem and i put a new one in and it worked but it would go to the Compaq screen when you first turn on your computer and just stayed there. On the lower part of the screen it said F10: to got to the BIO and F12: For internet settings. I tried to press F10 and F12 and nothing happened. So I unplugged it and it flash to this error screen about the keyboard (only for a slight second, not enough time to read) and then it load Windows. So i tried plugging it back in and the computer froze

It's usually not a good idea to plug and unplug keyboards and mice while the computer running, and especially when the PC is booting. Be sure everything is powered down and unplug the power cord from the PC. Leave it unplugged for at least 10-15 minutes to be sure everything has discharged. Now plug in the keyboard and mouse (if they were already plugged in, uplug 'em when you unplug the power cord). Wait a few seconds, plug in the power cord. Again, wait a few seconds... now power up. If you still have keyboard troubles, it could that it was taken out when the old power supply died (it's rare, but it happens). If it's a PS2 keyboard (round connector), try a USB keyboard, or vice versa....

If you can tell us the Compaq model #, it might help researching the problem.
