Keyfinder Thing Lite!

Everythings a bit up in the air now lol, I can't decide whether to continue both or make the lite version more like the full version (but with .net) although the lite won't work on vista and the full will and since vista ships with .net 2.0 this isn't an issue.

When I started building that site I hadn't actually made the lite version, I only made it as a sort of fix for the people who didn't have .net.

The lite version still has some nice features that arn't in the lite version like export to text or html, searching and extra information on each program. not to mention a much nicer gui.

What does everyone else think?!

 

@ gibo.. 1.06 will work for you now, If I have nothing else to add to it then I will release it later today with just that update.

The 0410 part of the number you gave me is a language Identifier, you must have a non eng/us version 0409 is the rest of the first section also mean other things

It already does. Isobuster uses HKCU.

I have added your version of office, however combined with all the different types of office products there are a large number of guids that represent office products, I think I need to have a rethink and just itterate through the entire office key really.

Can you include Ashampoo Burning Studio 6? Serial is stored (no encryption)into:

matt, keep both versions going if you can, as you say Vista has .NET.

Downloading .NET is a PITA on dialup, but more and more folks have broadband, every day.
I, for one, will be downloading .NET v2 when I get broadband, RSN.

May I suggest that you be able to export to CSV, or *.xls, or a format that is able to be easily exported to spreadsheet format. Better than *.txt, as it can be outputted by the user in a much neater layout. Regards Bazza

Don't expect too much progress on that version as I am without a computer at home and whilst I have vb6 installed at work I can't instal vs 2005 on the work boxes lol, but I am keeping a list of ideas and their providers.

meh I don't care lol, that fact its released on MGs should be good enough proof for anyone that it is safe, although some people have been downloading it from p2p programs and emailing me shouting and swearing that I infected them with something lol.

I've tried to fill in all the blanks with the macromedia stuff, I think I got it all! not sure if 8 works the same as the rest, if anyone has any of the macromedia 8 stuff can they let me know how it works out.

OK I released 1.12 yesterday but its got a bug in it preventing retrieval of office serials, I don't know how it actually managed to even ocmpile lol.

Stand by for 1.13 later today.

Fixed the bug

This one should now get ALL possible office procuts for office xp, office 2003 and office 2007 regardless of type product and language.

Well I suppose it was going to happen eventually.

Bitdefender now reports Keyfinder Thing Lite 1.15 (I'm not sure about earlier versions) as being Suspected of: Generic.Malware.K!.DED96C32

I'd like to reasure everybody that it isn't malware and whilst it has potential to be misused, in my opinion this is a false positive. I don't expect contacting them will change this but I will of course try.

 

The are removing the detection the next signature release.

Bitdefender now picks up version 1.16 as Generic.Malware.K!.3B5652B6, this is a false positive. No other antivirus has scanned ANY version as infected. Bitdefender removed the definition scanning 1.15 from their signatures and I assume they will be doing the same with 1.16.

anyhow its at 1.18 now anyway

Thanks matt, for your program. I just purchased a secondhand Dell desktop at an auction.

Only the barebones software was left on the PC so I decided to do an XP Home install.

One of the first thing MS asked for was my licence key, of course.

The CD's that came with the PC had no key shown.

I loaded v18 of your program and it immediately came up with the Key.

I have v21 on my laptop, but only v18 on my USB stick that I used on the Dell.

Usually copy across the latest downloads from C:\Downloads to my USB stick regularly, but not in this case. Bazza
