keylogger removal help please

    I have a keylogger on my computer and I really need help getting rid of it. Whoever this person is has been stealing my email passwords, which in turn make him able to get my world of warcraft account password and is stealing my items on all my characters in the game. I have no idea how to remove it and have now refrained from logging into basically anything requiring a password on my Mac in fear that he will steal it, although I'm pretty sure he is only after my world of warcraft items/gold to sell for real money. I ran a scan using MacScan but it didn't come up with anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Are you posting about problems on a Mac? If so, we only work on PC issues in this forum. I suggest you post in the Mac forum. Your best bet may be to uninstall WoW and reboot and then delete all folders related to it. Then reinstall and make sure you are using different passwords.

    Well I originally posted in the Mac section but my post was moved to here. Would the keylogger be somewhere in the wow directory? I don't think I got it from playing wow... my guess is I either got it from that Facebook virus that was going around or from visiting a WoW gold buying site or something because i've read that most people get it from those types of sites

    Okay but we really cannot help you with MAC problems since this is a PC based forum.


    All I can say about this is that we constantly have malware to remove from PCs where people are running WoW on them and get infected. Thus yes you could be infected from this but I cannot say for sure.

    Yes Facebook is also a source of many infections.
