Kick*** AGP video card in a PCIe world?

Got a computer with AGP 8x and there is no way I'm going to get that changed within the next 5 years. How good a video card can I get?

I was looking at the 512MB cards and I notice some have DDR3, does that have to be supported by the motherboard? Also I have a question on how much of a performance difference is 256bit vs 128bit. On that note I also have to ask if anyone can tell me of a model with 512 memory and 256bit rate. I failed to find one such.

Second - I heard of PCIe cards which can be connected to AGP via bridge. Googling I found the models but never the actual sepperate bridge. I know the cards need to have a chip on them which to allow operation through a bridge, but how many models today have this compatibility?

Looks very good. ATI 1950PRO eh? I won't have to switch my drivers then. ) Know of an nVidia solution aswell?

 

Also, it doesn't seem to support DX 10. How much of a con is that considering that I'm running Vista?

You can't plug it into a agp slot you can only plug it into a pcie slot and it's top slot is a agp sorry to tell you.:cry
