kids home from college

    hi everyone you have helped me in the past and still use many of the programs daughter home from school and i ran malawarebytes program and my AVG picked up some trojans that went into the vault malaware said no threats. I also have have super antispyware. what should I run next to make sure every thing is ok

    Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

    Note: If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

    confused ....I cleared the virus vaults and I know there were at least 2 trojans in there but so far i have run super antispyware and spybot and malware they show nothing found. I have saved the logs anyway and the next one i need to do is combofix but i need some time alone to follow all instructions hope to get to that tomorrow morning

    i was wondering if nothing has shown up so far do you think i need to run compofix. Instructions make me a little nervous..especial Window XP recovery console... I do not think I have every had to do this before to clear computer up

    I'm not seeing any problems in the logs you attached, however, I need the MGLogs.zip....it will be here:
    C:\MGLogs.zip.

    Please attach that. :)

    thanks for looking...Isn't strange that if 2 trojans were in the vault that the did not show up anywhere in the logs I have also forbidden limewire kids not happy oh well

    Your logs look good ....the scans took care of the malware. Are you having any other issues?

    The logs will not show quarantined files.....which is usually why we ask you to remove all quarantined files in the beginning. :)

    everything seems fine..i am still wondering though where does everything go when i emptied the virus vaults..Currently I run AVG everynite..Supersanti spy once a week and Malaware every other week. Is that a good schedule or do you think it should be changed.

    Your schedule sounds fine.....it really depends on the user preferences and the usage ( as in surfing habits, email attachments, downloads, etc).

    Good morning..
    I have a quick question but I am not sure what forum to use to post a new thread for this question. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on Service Pack 3. It is coming up on my automation updates. I remember the problems I had with Service pack 2 not sure if I want to go through that again.

    There are numerous threads on the issue in the software forum.....and you can always make a restore point before you download and install SP3.....incase you need to revert. I have had no issues with it on numerous machines.
