    Hi everyone

I wasnt sure where to put this one but here is the general problem...

I have a kodak easyshare M320 digital camera and have taken some pictures of my car to put on ebay.I have downloaded/installed "kodak easyshare software" from the official site which should allow me to download pics from the camera to the pc to put wherever i want.

HOWEVER...when i plug the camera into the pc it doesnt recognise the camera and i cant even see it in the removable storage in my computer or on the easyshare software.

It says i dont have the drivers but the easyshare software says it comes with necessary drivers for this purpose.

I have windows 7 home 32bit n-version (might have something to do with this??? not sure)

any help would be much appreciated

    thanks

    md2lgyk I can't follow the rules

I've found that for the most part the photo managing and editing software that comes with digital cameras is feature- limited and just not very good. My wife goes through cameras like crazy and each new one seems to always be a different brand with, of course, different software.

You really don't need anything to download files from your camera - you can do it with just Windows, so why bother with some other software? And there are a bazillion free editing programs available, some approaching the capabilities of Photoshop.

When trying to download pictures, are you making sure the camera is turned on? What happens if you try to download them without using the Kodak software? In reality, the pc doesn't "recognize" the camera, but the SD card inside. I don't even have to connect my camera to my laptop to download pictures, I take the card out and plug it into a slot on the computer.

I agree with md2lgyk. I've tried to use Kodak's Easy Share and it's a real pain. I finally deleted the whole app, and now I just upload through Windows, as md2lgyk suggested. Much, much easier!

And PS, for photo managing, I'm a big fan of Microsoft Office Picture Manager (or its predecessor Photo Editor). They are both GREAT photo editing apps and are free and already in your system if you're using almost any fairly recent edition of MS Office.

yes i turn the camera on then plug it into the pc...thats what it tells me to do in the manual.
but i cant find it...nothing pops up saying "removable device found" etc and no icon appears in my computer so i cant even drag n drop from the camera.

just tried placing card into laptop but nothing happened...does it matter if the little pin on the card is set to lock? do i need software to allow laptop to "see" the memory card? like a driver maybe?

You can try with a little card reader plugged into any USB port...:confused

pwillener: yes i have read those instructions...thats where i saw that i had to turn the camera on then connect it to the pc.

anyway i think the problem might be solved...my dads gona try it on one of his mates pc`s lol...i think my pc`s usb ports are messed up...they charge things but dont allow data transfer (this pc is quite old...made in like 2000 i think lol so i wouldnt be surprised)

thanks for all the help though everyone
