I have a colleague who has somehow been locked out of his windows 7 machine. Don't ask! I said i could reset his password for him like i have done on a bunch of older machines over the years (XP)

I usually use Hren BootDisk 15.2. however this stalls in the early stages on his machine.

So i looked around online and came across kon-boot v1.0. Is this legit?

I downloaded the free version but as i was unzipping the iso my antivirus software flagged it as potentially dangerous and then deleted it.

I now have the iso burned to disk but hesitant to use it. Has anyone experience with this software? thanks

It works, but it will not help, you need the password to change the password once you get in. Google .

    thanks foogoo.
i was going to create an admin account when i got in and then use that account to reset the account that has problems.

As it turns out the machine is a 64 bit and kon-boot doesn't work.

Ended up using win 7 installation disk to get in. thanks again for your input
