Was looking for proxies to hide behind and well... got Kryptik trojan.

Did all the run first clean stuff, I had to actually delete the what I belive was the main culprit in my local documents.

Figured I was good after the cleanings and it wouldn't let me use my USB keyboard (a microsoft one with no special drivers) and that says Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)

Something is still there because in firefox it will redirect me to sites in the bahamas that want to run scripts as the entire page, obviously blocked by no-script. I don't even want to use my computer because of this =o(

If i missed anything as far as logs or other cleaning procedures let me know ill do it asap. Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

First an observation: You have no protection software installed! Why?

You forgot to attach the below logs:
    • SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Malwarebytes
    • RootRepeal
Also you did not put ComboFix.exe on your Desktop as specified and required and also you ran steps in safe boot mode not normal bootmode. Please put ComboFix.exe directly on your Desktop and then do the below in normal boot mode.

Go to TDSSKiller and Download TDSSKiller.zip to your Desktop
    • Extract its contents to your Desktop so that you have TDSSKiller.exe directly on your Desktop and not in any subfolder of the Desktop.
    • Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bold command into Run box and hit Enter.
    "%userprofile%\Desktop\TDSSKiller.exe" -v
    • Follow the instructions to type in "delete" when it asks you what to do when if finds something.
    • When done, a log file should be created on your C: drive named something like TDSSKiller.2.1.1_27.12.2009_14.17.04_log.txt which is based on the program version # and date and time run. Please attach this log to your next reply. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post )

Now download the current version of MGtools and save it to your root folder. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

Run MGtools.exe ( Note: If using Vista make sure UAC is still disabled. Also don't double click on it, use right click and select Run As Administrator )

    Now attach the below log:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

TDSSkiller appears to have removed your redirect problem and likely cure your keyboard issue to since it was a keyboard driver.

You did not tell me how things are working! Are you still having problems?

You also did not answer why you have no protection!

No protection because im poor and cant afford to buy a license for AV programs.

Things were fine this morning but an hour ago i tried playing a game and kept losing connection to the game, but not to the ventrilo I was in.

Things appear fine now (as far as the trojan goes), no redirects, keyboard works now, worked after TDSSK.

Also maybe a month or so ago, my computer started to take more time to boot up, used to boot up instantly to desktop within 30 seconds of turning computer on. Fairly decent computer Dualcore 3.0ghz 3.5ghz ram.

And in the attached, I heard this particular file was not supposed to be in folders other than system32, potential problem?

This is not a good excuse at all. There have been very good free programs for many years. See: How to Protect yourself from malware!

Game problems will have to be discussed in the Gaming Forum or even the Software Forum.

Everytime Windows ( and other programs you run ) get updates, they change in size and in memory requirements and that can also affect startup. You cannot expect a PC to startup within 30 seconds. Typical startup times from turn on until being to open a browser and connect to the internet, are 4 to 8 minutes depending on system specs and what applications are being loaded. Installing protection software will slow down startup while all the protection hooks in to protect you.

    They are backups.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thank you for your help sir. I will look into protection.

    Finished remaining steps per instructions.
