KT600 motherboard HELP

i need help with this borad cuz i dont knw how to make it work.. well i buildin my new comp rite now and i got everything but than i dont knw how to get it to recognize tha HDD and it wont evan load no cd drive that came wit the borad but than the board came wit a ata cable and power cable.. and they dont fix the damn harddrive that i have... tell me how will iget my new comp to work and install the xp window ...

I have a KT600, give some more info, maybe I can help.
Your HDD is it IDE or SATA?
