Hey guys, my computer has never been so slow. I have cleared my cache, ran CC Cleaner, Windows plus, even the Malware program you suggested, by the way that worked last time thanks:(. Nothing seems to help. I reinstalled IE 8.I'm running an E-Machines pent. 4 with windows. Connected to high speed internet. In the middle of a game it will stop and an error will come up and say IE has to close but it won't. At the top it will say IE not responding and then it will come on. My sister says it says I'm on then I'm off from her end. What do you suggest?

I see you posted once in the Malware removal forum but never posted your logs for inspection. There is a good chance you have malware on that machine.

I would recommend a full malware removal along with a posting of your logs. Just running those tools is often not enough to get your machine clean.

    LindaLue,

That link in my first response brings you to a MG site, READ AND RUN ME FIRST, which provides you with step by step detailed instructions for removing malware and posting logs there for inspection and further cleaning.

There are no fewer that 4 malware removal programs you will run plus a program call MG Tools that will produce extra logs for one of the malware fighters to analyze in order to give you more instructions. At that point, you may well be given additional tools to use to clean up your machine.

It can be a lengthy procedure, if you look at some of the threads there you will see many extending from a few days to a week or more.

Simply running one malware removal tool generally does little to nothing.

The alternative to all this of course is to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the OS, but all personal data and settings would be lost.

Malware is sort of like a progressive disease. You are already getting new errors, you've noticed a decrease in performance, and the longer this continues the more work it will be to clean-up. :)
