I consider myself to be pretty good with PC's, so this question (IMO) seems a bit lame; but what the heck is a download manager? What is the reason to install one? I get GREAT download speeds using IE or FF, but I've read in these (and other) forums about folks using these download managers. What benefit does a download manager bring to my PC and my internet experience as a whole?
    Thanx

Download managers, were used (IMHO) during the days when you may have a great connection, but, oh wait.l;kaj;lkjasj;dffk;j...disconnection. Now, one must download the entire file all again. Download managers helped withe these situations. Once disconnected, and re-connected one could continue the download.
