    Well i m running windows 7 64bit on dell inspiron n5110

it so happens that the lan adapter i m using is disabling itself after almost every 5 minutes .. i do try to enable it almost everytime .. but i am getting tired of this problem . espacially when i have to download things without any stop

i ve checked this problem already on google .. it says windows 7 have a feature of disabling its network for power saving .. i ve tried unchecking that option as well but it still sucks ..

the wire i m using to connect modem with laptop is also working fine. there is no such issue in modem as well ..

    need help ..

  2. Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for the LAN?
Tried booting into safe mode with networking to see if it still disables itself?
Have you got a PCI network card you can try to see if this does the same?

    CQ.

  4. You don't have to remove your card, if its a desktop PC add another PCI card (not PCI-e just normal PCI) if another card does it you have a strange issue, if it doesn't you know its something wrong with your LAN adaptor onboard.

To get into safe mode simply press F8 a few times as soon as you power your computer on before Windows loads and it should offer you a menu - go to Safe mode with Networking - see if your issue still occurs.

    @ CaptainQwerty - It's a laptop.

@ njatiktak - When you are reinstalling the driver, are you going into Device Manager and uninstalling the adapter and then rebooting?
Even though there is not an update to the initial release drivers, you can go HERE and download a fresh copy and install again.
