LAN Adaptor not working after malware infection

This hp laptop running Vista had multiple infections including many Smitfraud variants. Spybot and SuperAntiSpy fixed these and subsequent scans showed the system was clean. The Smitfraud fix was also run. The latest drivers for the Intel Pro1000 LAN adaptor were downloaded and Vista reported that they installed successfully, however Vista is also reporting after reboot that it cannot load the drivers.

The usual hosekeeping and cleaning procedures have all been followed and the problem remains (note that I could not update SuperAntiSpy definitions manually because I cannot get access to the Applications folder (where the updates should be installed to) even with Administrator priviledges and UAC turned off.) So that scan was only conducted with the definitions that came with the latest installer for SuperAntiSpy.

Logs for SAS, Malwarebytes, CombiFix and MGTools are attached or will follow. I'm trying to avoid re-installing Vista if possible.
