LAN for DUMMY - ME!

Okay, so I got DSL yesterday. The installer from AT&T hooked it up as a home network then walked/rushed out the door leaving me clueless. I want to se able to share files and the printer between my laptop and my desktop but I don't know how or where to begin.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

PS: Both machines are running XP (1 XP Pro Media Center Edition and 1 XP Home Edition)

Don I gave you a link that will take you to a home network setup page. follow the instructions and you shouldn't have a problem. If so check back and someone will guide you the rest of the way through
